The most expensive website is the one you have to build twice. Before any design work begins, we walk clients through ten questions — and they change the brief more often than not.
- What is the single job of the site? Leads, sales, bookings, credibility? Everything else is designed around this.
- Who is it for? One primary audience, described specifically.
- What is working now? Which pages already rank and convert? Those must be protected in the migration.
- Where does traffic come from? Search, social, referrals or ads — the mix shapes the structure.
- What content is missing? The pages customers need that you have never written.
- Who will update it? If the answer is “us”, the CMS must be genuinely easy.
- How will success be measured? Define the numbers before launch, not after.
- What is the redirect plan? Every old URL needs a home, or your rankings leave with it.
- How fast does it need to be? (Trick question — the answer is always “very”.)
- What happens after launch? Maintenance, security, content and SEO are ongoing, not one-off.
Thinking about a rebuild? Bring these answers to a free first meeting and we will turn them into a plan.
